Doing the presentations with my group members is very enlightening, and we learn more about our strengths and weaknesses. I believe that Sumeet is the best speaker of our group. He is good with expressing his words and his ideas. I feel like Ayush could improve his speaking the most. He sometimes struggles with memorization and stuttering. We practice and rehearse for a few minutes before our presentation. We are able to communicate the point that we wanted to convey well. I feel that we were also able to teach the class about the science behind our app.The responses that we received from GoSoapBox were helpful, as they helped us think of a new name, and what features to add to our product/app. I also like to give feedback to other groups.I predicts that the judges will view our group project as something that would be extremely helpful to the society. I think our group is near the top of the bunch based on the presentations that I see.
I think that our team is operating well and we are cooperating well. Although we are making progress well as a team we do not have that much energy for our product in front of the crowd which I think we still need to work on. I think that we are motivated as a team and organized because of our leadership within the CEO.
I think that a good leader is motivational and wants to see the product be made and succeed. I also think that a good leader can be able to keep the people around him or her focused and give everyone the exact same vision which is to see the product become a reality in our case.
So far we haven’t had many conflicts but whenever we did we were able to solve them pretty well. We were able to figure out who needed to do what and who was arguing and for what reason. Our team all wants to see the product be made and make it a reality so we really don’t have a problem of getting off task. I wouldn’t have fired anyone on the team because I think we work well as a team.
I think that everyone brings something different to the table which makes solving problems easier because everyone sees things in a different way, which makes the problem more solvable. I think that friendship is essential because everyone needs to be able to trust each other. If someone says that they can solve a problem and another person doesn’t trust that person’s ability then you have a problem.
Team interactions are going well. There has been no major controversy in our group, and even the little ones were resolved with words and not screaming. Our team, while it does get work done, is low-energy and sometimes unmotivated. There are no hostile interactions on our team, and we are all friendly with each other. I would describe the team as productive, cooperative, and self-sufficient.
For me, a good leader is one who commands, but also follows his own command. For example, if a leader said “Till the fields,” then in my opinion he should also help to till the fields. If I assign jobs to the people in my group, I will help to do one of the jobs. There is a somewhat hazy leadership on the team. While my groupmates look to me for what to do, they often tell each other how to do it. For me, a company doesn’t necessarily have to have a clear, established leader. If everyone performs their function correctly and efficiently, there is no need for a leader. However, if there is discoordination within the group, then a leader must be established.
Surprisingly, there have been no real conflicts so far, and even the little ones were managed by just some simple convincing. The most effective strategy to keeping everyone on task is by asking everyone what they are doing, and check if any progress has been made on that part of the project. If there has been no progress, then I can say that they’re either being unproductive or they’ve stumbled upon a thinking block. Some people may not be working effectively because they are distracted, but this is easily fixed by using the previous method. I would not have fired anyone by now.
In terms of work, personalities of team members isn’t too important. However, during presentations, an enthusiastic personality is probably more beneficial than a dull, unmotivated personality. Friendship is important in a company team, because if no one got along with each other, then the company would be very unproductive. Competition is worse than friendship, in my opinion, because it may incite hatred. Our team is operating at an okay rate, but it could be better. I think the aforementioned strategy will help in keeping everyone on task in the coming weeks.
Our team interactions have been going well, as we are getting along. We have found ways to divide up the work where it is reasonable for everyone. I would call our team high energy, we usually agree on things, and we are encouraging. We listen to whatever everyone has to say. A good leader is someone who is responsible and cares for everyone on the group. He is not to hard on anyone, but is also able to step up and intervene when required. Having clear leadership is most likely required, because if all four of the people in the group feel like they have equal power, that would be chaotic, and not everyone would want to be in a leader roleThe conflicts have been under control, and have been related to what software to make the application on. Everyone wants to make the project a reality, so there is no need to keep people on task, they do it by themselves. I would not have fired anyone on the team. The fact that everyone has a unique personality is very important, because we can all see one issue in different ways, and find different solutions. Friendship is also essential because people need to trust the others around them to feel comfortable and share what they think. Our team is operating well, and I feel like if we keep up this pace we will be able to make good progress.
Week 3 in, and I think we are off to a good start. Our presentation is up to date. We are halfway through the phone prototype. We are using another software, MIT App Inventor 2, to create our prototype, because we need to do some coding, and Android Studios keeps on crashing. We made our prototype listen to a voice command through clicking a button. Currently, we are trying to make the process trigger with a word command, so the user wouldn’t have to touch the phone while driving. We haven’t started overriding car controls, but we plan to do that in the next 4 weeks.
A good leader is someone that is motivated to do work, and so motivated that it motivates the people under the leader. A good leader wants to see a product come to life, and he does it in a way that the people under him would believe the same. A good leader tells you to work, but does work too.
There are no conflicts in our group. We usually are able to work together and there is nothing the CEO needs to control. There had been some little ones, which was easily solved by some simple talking, but other than that, I think our team is off on a running start.
Friendship should be important, so we can work constructively work together. When we work together, we get more work done, instead of being competitive and not getting as much work done. By working together, we could solve problems that we wouldn't be able to do by ourselves.
